Vivienne Tam decided to go punk and Pop Art for her Fall Winter 2013 collection. She wanted to celebrate individuality, the essence of yin and yang, and the idea of taking imagery from popular culture that pays tribute to the ordinary object and the everyday person. She intricately melded the concepts into a straightforward collection full of red, white, black, and electric blue hues. Son Jung Wan’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection, “Dynamic Romance,” was inspired by the painter Kandinsky and by the Catherine Palace in Russia. The color palette was very neutral tones and warm grays that were accented with pops of color such as ox blood. Nicole Miller’s FW 2013 collection was all about layers, just in time for the NYC blizzard. Even though the palette was filled with a lot of moody dark colors, the pieces really popped, and the designer did not disappoint her fans. Rebecca Minkoff’s FW 2013 collection was that collection that any stylish woman will be immediately wanting to add to their closet. The models walked down the runway with slick-straight hair, marbleized nails, and standout cobalt blue eyeliner. The Nashville music duo Wild Card played live as the models did their thing strutting down the runway. The music definitely brought a cool edge that made the whole show all the more appealing.
